DEVELOPMENT ISSUE #3,391 - New aircraft consideration
Reported by Chris Custer (DVA8339) on 02/22/2011 11:42 ET
Assigned To Luke Kolin (DVA043)
Issue Status Open
Issue Priority Low
Security Public
Area Fleet Library
Issue Type Enhancement
Target Version 0.0
Issue Description Not sure what channel to persue this under, however, I think it is worth DVA looking into. I downloaded this version of the BAE146 (which the fleet installers do not have for FSX) and it is a VERY nice aircraft to fly. If someone can make a Delta repaint for it (or perhaps use the existing Northwest paint schemes for this model) we would have an EXCELLENT FSX compatible BAE146. http://www.fs-freeware.net/flight-simulator-downloads/func-startdown/773/

Mark,

Will you review this aircraft as it would be part of your program.

Thank you for submitting this to us Chris. We are always looking for ways to make our fleet one of the best possible.

I will give the aircraft a good try and get back with you. Expect to here from me within the next week.

Sounds good Mark, I apprectiate it. I did notice it could use a fix on the flap indicator, but I figured we'd have someone floating around who could fix that. Besides that, I haven't found any obvious flaws. So far, I've really enjoyed flying this plane

I got around to flying this aircraft a bit today and here are the negative things that caught my eye:

-flap indicator disagrees with throttle quadrant's flap indicator
-cockpit view changes when you bring up other panels and the only way to get back is by pressing Shift + 1
-no VC. Not unusual for our fleet.
-has an autothrottle switch. Real BAE does not. Not unusual for our fleet.
-standby airspeed indicator not functional.
-Could not get the aircraft cold and dark.
-when you shut down the engines manually, the N1 reads 0, but the engines are actually still on. You can only shut them down by assigning a button to the "autoshutdown" control in Key Assignments.

The little things I've noticed were not a detriment to my flying experience. Overall, the aircraft resembles a nice freeware. It functions well and flew well. The fact that we don't have this aircraft in an FSX version yet leads me to recommend getting this in the fleet library as soon as possible.

I'm pushing this back to Sterling Widmer.

Out of curiosity, what is wrong with the existing BAE-146?

I don't believe the existing installer is FSX compatible. This would be for FSX.

I would agree that there should be some updates. The new Airbus A319/20/21 models are excellent. The Skyspirit2010 767-300 and -400 are a huge step up from the latest Posky 767 models. Also Skyspirit2010's model has winglet versions

why has nothing happened here?
