Hey guys, this has recently been happening to me. It seems like every time I fly into a storm, or a bunch of clouds in FSX it causes and airspeed indicator failure, then about 10 minutes or so later my aircraft will speed up to like 600 knots! It only happens when I fly into a bunch of clouds tho lol it really is aggravating! The 2 planes that I've encountered the issue with (the only 2 I only fly really) is the Boeing 737-800 and the MD-88.. Am I the only one having this issue??

I have REX and flew the stock 737-800 for a long time until the PMDG was released. I've never experienced what you describe.
Is your pitot heat turned on? Could be the moisture in the clouds is plugging your pitot which would explain the airspeed indicator failure.

Christian, If you have your Auto-Throttle on when your airspeed indicator goes out, the plane will think that its speed is 0. To compensate for the loss in airspeed, the A/T will apply full thrust causing you to exit the clouds (or when your airspeed indicator comes back on) at a very high speed. Make sure your pitot heat is on when flying through clouds when the OAT is under 0 degrees Celsius. Your problem should stop.

Happy Flying!

Thanks guys! hopefully that solves the problem, hate to say it but I have actually been forgetting to turn the pitot heat on when flying through clouds:0
