Ok, I found a flight departing RIC to JFK on the schedule with a CRJ-200. So, I logged it in my ACARS, selected the CRJ on FSX, and chose the flight plan. I go to click "Start Flight" under ACARS and it shows 2 error messages. The first one reads "DVA ACARS has encountered the following error: maybe running on WideClient, but FS no trunning on Server, or wrong FSUIPC". The second one reads "Microsoft Flight Simulator is not ready to fly. Please start microsoft Flight Simulator and load your aircraft". It's saying that I don't have FSX loaded or my craft selected, though I have FSX fully loaded and the craft is selected. Would ACARS still read and log my flight if I clicked "Fly Now!" from the FSX menu? I don't want to fly the whole way, only to find that my 1.3 hour flight didn't count.

You need to make sure that FSUIPC is installed. Did you select it when installing ACARS?

Cheers!

I downloaded it again wish FSUIPC selected and it's showing the same error message. Would it still give me the legs if I just clicked "Fly Now!" from the FSX menu? Oh, and the ACARS program makes this annoying sound that I can't really describe every so often.

Does FSUIPC appear in your FSX Add-Ons menu? Is there an FSUIPC.LOG file in your FSX\Modules directory?

Cheers!

Things I've tried so far:

-Re-installing ACARS
-Update my Netframe (or whatever it's called)
-Run ACARS as an administrator
-Run ACARS under compatibility mode (Windows XP)

Jordan, Luke asked if FSUIPC was available on the pull down Add-On menu, and if you had a .LOG file. Luke knows this stuff, so be sure to answer his questions.

Where is the pull down Add-On menu? I just looked under Program Files (x86)>Microsoft Games>Microsoft Flight Simulator X>Modules and found the FSUIPC4.dll that I said in the post earlier.

Then it didn't install correctly. Delete FSUIPC4 from your Modules folder, and download the installer from here: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html

Just click cancel when the installer asks you to register/buy a key; you don't need to.

Cheers!

That's probably the problem. It is only there when you install add-ons. FSUIPC is an add-on. When you want to go on-line, you will install more software, and those programs will show up under the Add On menu too. If Add On is not there, and you are running FSX, that's the problem. Someone else will have to help, it seems it is not just a matter of installing, but how you install.

I think I have an idea. It's something that the Logitech support told me to do when I had trouble installing my joystick.

Uhh... that didn't work. I'll completly uninstall ACARS from my comp and save the installer to my desktop. I'll open the installer from the desktop and install it that way. That's how Logitech support had me download software for my joystick.

Well, I was chatting with someone in ACARS and he told me that I needed to be at a gate and have my parking breaks on for it to work. Wow, such a simple program yet it's tough to use.

No Jordan...the program isn't the problem...you just spent too much time in that "other" topic...your mind is a little fuzzy now...you'll feel better in a few hours... evilgrin
