Like the title suggests, and as many of you know, HNL-MSP no longer exists on the DVA/real DAL timetables. Is there any chance that this might be added as a legacy route? This used to be a huge route for NWA having everything from B742s, B744s, DC10s, and A333s on it.

I personally only have flown once on the HNL-MSP portion in real life, just days after the retirement of the DC10 (dang), but love this route in FS. It would be awesome to have this route back.

Thanks.

I would like it taken a step further and maybe load some historic NWA routes

I like this idea. NWA is such a big part of what Delta is today, and deserves to be honored. If it wasn't for NWA, we wouldn't have the Airbus programs. I'll create a help desk issue.

I generally don't post in the water-cooler but this is something that would be nice. I know we aren't the "Northwest VA," but at one point we were very intertwined with NWA; now that is history so it only makes sense to put it in the historic routes section. I agree that this would be a worth-while thing to bring back to DVA.

Also looks like COS-MSP is almost extinct...used to be 3x NWA A319s/320s (even the occasional 727 in the day). Then 2x CRJ-900s...now 1x DAL CRJ-200. Sad

As a side note, if you wanted to expand into historical Northwest routes, and went to the Northwest Orient days, you could also expand into the Boeing 377 Stratocruiser for the old time routes to Tokyo.

I personally think we should expand our historical program to not necessarily only in the DVH section. I think we should pull together as many routes as we can find for all of the airlines in the "Delta Family". I also would like to expand the fleet program so it can truly "reflect" the Delta family.

Here are some I'd like to see:

NC:

EAU-MSP, 580
MKE-ORD, 580
MKE-GRR, D9S
GRB-MQT, D9S

SO:

MEM-GWO MARTIN-404/METRO
MEM-MEI MARTIN-404/METRO
MEM-TCL MARTIN-404/DC9

RW:

HOU-PHX 722
HOU-SAT 722
HOU-TUS D9X
SAT-TUS D9X
BFL-LAS D9X

NW:

MEM-PFN SF3 9E/XJ
MEM-GSP SF3/CR2 (this was the inaugural CRJ route) 9E
MSP-MCO D10
MSP-ONT M82
MEM-CHA SF3 9E/XJ
DAY-CMH D9S
IAH-MEM DC9
MSP-IAH 752
DTW-IAH 320

If it helps, here are the times/flight numbers toward the end of the route:

NW809 MSP-HNL, departs 11:40 AM, arrives 3:10 PM, equipment was previously B747-200, DC-10-30, and A330-300 (I believe with the occasional DC-10-40).
NW808 HNL-MSP, departs 6:25 PM, arrives 5:55 AM, equipment also B742/DC10/A333.

If we're going back to older NWA routes and aircraft, let's not forget the B707-320 flown by Northwest. That would be a sweet sister to the DC-8s. I plan to fly the B707 after I get my DC-8 rating, but the only routes I can log are on AFV.

I think when you search the online schedule on ACARS, it's empty. You just put their whole timetable in there rather than adding it to the historic schedule. Call it NWA's legacy maybe?

I suppose add PDX-HNL in the NWA/DAL 753 now as well, just realized that route doesn't exist anymore either.

I like the idea of adding historic Northwest routes... 747 (100 & 200), 757 (200 & 300), DC-10 (30 & 40), and maybe even the Embarer 175.

I was lucky enough to catch the very last NWA DC-10 departure when it took off HNL-MSP several years ago, caught a video of it off of 8R too (night and dark but you can certainly hear those awesome engines).

You have been most patient on this. Let me see if I can get this done over the weekend.

Cheers!

My misfortune is your good luck. I was going to do this later this weekend, once I tested my new CPU cooler and my i5-2500K overclocked to 4+ Ghz on a hot summer's evening. I was going to do the redeye from LAX to ATL, and just before TRM on the HOLTZ9 I discovered I forgot to hit "START FLIGHT".

Happens to the best of us.

I'm going to load the NW schedule from 10/15/2009 and see what comes up. I'll post a link to a CSV file once I'm done.

Cheers!

Merry Christmas all.

I took the Northwest schedules of October 15th and October 16th 2009 and loaded them in; I then removed out any legs that had an airport pair covered by the current Delta schedule. I then re-added any legs that I stripped out in the previous step that were necessary to complete a multi-leg flight (NW1 is a good example; leg 1 is covered by Delta's schedule).

Let me know what you think.

Cheers!

I certainly apologize for all the thread bumps, but thank you sooooo much! It'll be great to fly MSP-HNL and MSP to some of the smaller northern Midwest destinations. Something to look forward to when I get back from this business trip.
