Issue Description |
Hi posted on the water cooler a while ago, Luke did respond at the time but no response has been received since. I always used to be able to run acars on my second pc and leave the sim pc purely for the sim, since one of the more recent newer versions, this no longer seems to work, is this a known issue, is there a fix known / available / being worked on for this?
Regards
Steve |

Hmm. I will convert this into an issue tracker for Luke. |

What does "no longer seems to work" mean? This isn't actionable. |

I cannot use acars on my second pc. I’ve managed to get it installed but I use xpuipc for efass and acars then defaults to using fsuipc rather than xpbridge. If I leave xpuipc off, aim not started messages appear |

Have you gone into the ACARS settings and specified the hostname for your XP machine? |

Hi Luke,
I have tried this tonight, I've attached some screen shots that may help.
When XPUIPC is running, as you will see, although XPBRIDGE is detected, it still decides to use FSUIPC Bridge to actually connect and then tells me that FSX / P3D not started. When no XPUIPC running, tells me that XP is not running. |

I think you need port 15528 instead of 0 on the settings page. |

Added the port, closed and re-opened the acars while XP11 was running with a plane parked at gate. Connects ok, loaded a dummy flight via search, hit start flight and still get the Xplane not running message. |

Do I need to enter any settings into XP itself? This needs to be working while XPUIPC is running as I have moving maps etc that rely on this (for info) |

You should not need to make any XP changes; please switch to the beta release channel (in the Help About screen and restart) to see if Build 127 beta 7 fixes things. |

Do you have a link for me to download XPUIPC? I know there's a site but it doesn't appear to have been updated in ages and I believe there are newer versions floating around. |

So downloaded Beta 9, still comes up that XP11 must be started before you connect to the acars server |

Any further progress with this? |

Beta 11 will cause ACARS to try and connect to the sim if not connected before trying to connect to the ACARS server. If nothing else it should provide better logging data. |

Resolved in Build 127 Beta 11. |
