Our DVA Flight Academy is temporarily closed and not accepting any new students or ability for existing students to complete the old courses. We need to re-do our courses to parallel the new changes being made by VATSIM which take effect on August 18 2020. Stay tuned!

I guess that explains why my check ride request remained pending for two weeks prior to the shut down.

PPL course is almost finished, with new manuals and check rides and aircraft. Looks like MSFS2020 is now working. Once completed we will submit to VATSIM PTD for approval.

Existing P4-P5 pilot ratings:

Will be granted a P2 (IR) in the new system under the consensus only basic IFR skills and knowledge was examined in these ratings.
Additionally, current P5's that utilized a multi engine aircraft should check with their ATO about be awarded a P3 under the new system, as only certain ATO’s will be able to offer this.

@Scott, are we able as ATO to offer the new P3 rating using a multi engine aircraft?

Not to hijack this thread but I don't want to start a new one, I completed the old P2 course on DVA, so according to the new rating system I should be P1? On my VATSIM profile it still shows P0 though

Existing P1 pilot ratings: Will be granted a P0 under the new system given the consensus no real flying skills were tested in this process as it was a theory only examination.

Existing P2-P3 pilot ratings: Will be granted a P1 (PPL) in the new system under the consensus only basic VFR flight skills and knowledge was examined in these ratings.

Existing P4-P5 pilot ratings: Will be granted a P2 (IR) in the new system under the consensus only basic IFR skills and knowledge was examined in these ratings.
Additionally, current P5's that utilized a multi engine aircraft should check with their ATO about be awarded a P3 under the new system, as only certain ATO’s will be able to offer this.

check with VATSIM PTD and see why they did not convert your P2 rating to P1- we will do the same.

Yes as soon as we submit our ATO courses to VATSIM for approval, we will have all 4 ratings.

It appears mine was converted to P0 as well. Did you receive any updates on this?

Yup, I opened a help desk issue on this and also emailed VATSIM, and got it all sorted out. I believe there's an option for you to convert real world ratings so you can skip all the different courses though.
