Morning everyone, I find this "behind the scenes" from Delta maintenance facilities at Atlanta very interesting. I think some of you may know this place in person but for those like me who probably will never have such an opportunity it maybe fun to watch!

Thanks for posting this, Eudes. I've always been curious as to what goes on behind the maintenance scene.

Thanks Eudes. My Uncle Desmond was the real world Paint Director at Boeing Seattle. He started age 17 as a Sweepboy in the Boeing shops. He retired not so long ago. His home behaviour was like his work behaviour. He would wear white gloves at home and check for dust. haha. I'd like to think he painted a few Deltas. For a long time I would never fly Airbus just to honor him.

At one time I had thought about going to school to become a MX engineer & technician with the ultimate goal of working for Delta. As a ramp rat (Ramp Agent) I saw how the Delta maintenance team based out of KDEN did such a great job working on the aircraft, and for the most part (save for the ice cold days/nights) seemed to enjoy their jobs. I wasn't able to live my childhood dream of becoming an airline pilot due to health issues which I was born with, but a career in aircraft maintenance could have brought me about as close to that dream as one can get. Looking back now, I wish I would have pursued that avenue. I would have no doubt had to have moved down to ATL if I did this for Delta, and put my time in there, before I could return to the west, probably at Salt Lake, and then eventually back to Denver, but for a few years, I could put up with the humidity and heat. As long as it meant working for the best airline and best maintenance program out there. Oh yeah. You had better be skinny. And the shorter you are, the better. I'm 6'2" and just like trying to ride in a coach configured cabin, getting into and out of tight places on aircraft and working around them can be TOUGH!
