I mean windows xp 32, 64 or vista 32 or 64, also, I would like to know which fs is right for me, I mean which one would be run really good in my computer without the stutters and all of that FSX or FS9. I need to get flying as soon as I can so please help, Also, would my computer be able to run these programs good and without any major issues. Below are the specs of my laptop. Thank you very much for all the replies, I think I bought a good laptop, but now you please decide and tell me what you think. Thank you.

yes, your computer will run fs9 maxed, and fsx well

you need bootcamp and/or parallels to run the windows os...which means you must own xp or vista as well. I dont run vista so i cant says how/if it will run on the macbook

With my MacBook Pro and the Specs listed, I have my FSX running pretty stable at 20-25 FPS. In very high density areas, like ATL with lots of traffic, it can drop to 10. But I usually turn off my AI traffic, and turn off vehicles and birds, etc. Don't need them.

I would venture to say that if you have and use FS9 now, and are comfortable with it - and have lots of add-ons - stick with it. Once you get FS9 running good on the MacBook - then go for the FSX install. You can install both on the same partition. I have a 50GB partition.

I use XP PRO 32 bit

thanks again andrew for the quick response, well ill try with fsx, hopefully i can get around those FPS, but also one last thing, do you think that my FPS could be a slightly higher, since I see that you have a 256MB video card, while this mackbook has a 512MB, maybe could that help improve it? also which settings should i use in my fsx? i mean medium, high, low, , because ive seen the fsx graphics and they are just stunning, so im going to upgrade from fs9 to fsx, i will let you know as soon as i installed it, how it worked, thank you very much for the replies, also would you recommend x-plane as a better simulator, and run smoothly, because im an aeronautical engineer, and all of the aircraft design and integration seems to be a real handy tool, but how about the graphics and all of the other good stuff? thank you again andrew, really appreciate the responses, and great help

My opinion: If you want to learn how to fly an aircraft - with accurate dynamics, etc. and don't care about the other "stuff" then go with X-Plane.

I use X-Plane solely for maintaining my proficiency in IFR flight - byt the book - analysis, etc.

If you want to enter the whole arena, and are ok with some planes "ok" dynamics, then FS is the way to go. Not saying that all the planes in the thousands out there aren't good - they just aren't perfect. There is a reason that X-Plane is certified to be used in actual flight and simulator instruction and Flight Sim 9 or FSX is not.

I upgraded to 512, but when i had 256 it was running ok.

thanks andrew once again for the responses, I have decided to install windows xp 32 bit and fs9, for ultimate performance, and will install my FSGLOBAL X for fs9 onto the program and Real Environment X (REX) in order to get maximum quality graphics. so how do you think my system will perform? , also, im getting x-plane 9, seems too good to be true, so i have to test it out after installing the demo. thanks for the response, or besides these settings is there anyjing else you would recommend me to do? thank you again andrew

You will like Global X - it'll be handy to have since it is compatible with both. The FS9 REX isn't due out yet for a couple months. The Real Environment Pro is out freeware for FS9 and it is pretty good anyway. As far as anything else - just tweak your system. When you add a bunch of animation "stuff" it takes a big hit on your frames - so be careful. I would invest in Active Sky
