Just got a new AMD Phenom II 955 today. Now i can use my PMDG on high settings at 27 fps with REX and not even have my computer break a sweat. Now I want to use FSX instead of FS9.

John, a word of caution. If you're getting 27 FPS using FS9 and PMDG, that'll drop to about 10-15 in FSX. FSX is VERY system intensive, until I tweaked it, I was getting about 2 FPS, once I tweaked it, I averaged 5. Just don't be supprised to see a drop in FPS.

EDIT: Oh, thats a great shot too, btw.

I did another test in the daytime and i don't get quite 20 FPS on the ground, but it is pretty darn close. The CPU load is what it was when I took the daytime picture. Now I just have to figure out how to let AMD overdrive overclock my CPU then I'll be all set.

they are the highest settings meant for a multi-core system

I'd be interested in the REX settings as well. I'm still using the default clouds with FSX and am reluctant to use REX for fear it'll slow things down and I'm not sure the trade-off will be worth it.

REX for FSX improves FPS because it uses DX5 optimized clouds instead of the default 32-bit textures.

I use the textures from REX and it seems to greatly improve my performance as well. I loaded the textures from REX into FSX, but I don't use REX for anything else. I use ASA for the weather conditions.
