Im the first officer of the 737-800 program and I was wondering if i could fly flights that were assigned to different aircraft like the crj-700 oak to lax? Thats an hour long. Lets be honest. Who has time to sit in front of the computer for more than 2 hours? Or am I stuck flying the longer flights for the 737?

You can fly the CRJ routes with the 737.

What ever ratings you have you can fly that airplane, but however, to be promoted to captain, you need to complete 10 flight in the program you are in and take the captains exam

Easy as this, you don't have time to fly it, don't fly it.. I usually don't have time to sit in front of my computer for more than 8 hours, thus I have only flown 1 trans-atlantic flight. Most of my flights are around 3 hours, but that may just be because I have no life..

For 8 hrs flights, I hook up A/P, since I can't sit in my room for 8 hours, simulating the time spent in crew bunk.
"Read the promotion manual in the Pilot Center" His type of question isn't covered in the promotion manual.

any route that is in range of your aircraft you can fly, but you must be rated for the aircraft. hope that helps.

" dont have time to sit in front of a computer for 2 hours " usually if i'm flying a " longer flight " i'll get up to cruise set auto pilot, and sit back relax and watch tv, lol, luckly my tv is right in front of my desk, ( weird i know ) so if anything happens i see it in the corner of my eye.

I know i dont thank god for A/P i will set it and check on it every hour or so

Bo the big planes are great fun just do what you want to do.

P.S. The MD-11 is a GREAT plane to fly
