How does the autoland feature work on the MD-88 if it has one.

When you pass 1500 feet AGL and have selected AUTOLAND....the AP unit will initiate a sequence
that will result in the readying of the roll and pitch channels for an automatic landing. You will notice
AUT LND displayed in both roll and pitch channels of the FMA when the system is active and tracking.

When AUT LND is active the AUTO G/A mode is automatically armed.

That's for the real plane or if you have a payware plane like the Maddog 06. Default FS planes don't have autoland.

I don't believe the fleet MD-88 has autoland (unless they've added it in the past couple years). If you have a payware package like the Maddog 2006, Ryan's nailed it. The important things to remember for autoland are that you have a properly stabilized approach, and have your ILS frequency tuned in on NAV 1 (and for some planes, it has to be tuned on NAV 2 as well).
