I was wondering what DVA's policy on diversions are. I recently completed ICN-SFO and my fuel came up short. I landed in SEA and refueled, but ACARS still posted Inflight Refuel Detected. Will the flight be rejected, because I thought we were allowed to use an alternate if necessary and then continue to the original destination?

If you have to divert, try and use an airport that is in the database that Delta flies to (that is in our schedule). Then file the flight plan from your origin to new diversion airfield. In teh remarks area, please note that you diverted because of fuel/weather, obnixious passenger, etc.). When you continue your flight to your destination, file that next leg, and again, make suer you annotate that this was the continuation of your original flight due to your diversion.

May not have come out right - tired this morning.

Is it possible to reprogram ACARS to allow for a diversion and not have to start a new flight.

Instead of splitting your flight into two legs, if you list your alternate destination in the ACARS, shouldn't you be able to refuel and takeoff again to resume your course in one flight record. I know ACARS will record the first landing you make and then once you reach a gate and park ACARS will not record another T/O or landing, however it may make things more easier and more realistic to have ACARS programmed to accept both a Diversion landing and a landing at your original destination.
