I failed a recent 757-200 CR and that's not a big issue.
The FLAPS on this airplane are.----- my throttle quandrant showed t/o flaps set at 15° as suggested by the FMC---google earth showed NO FLAPS and I got the auriel "FLAPS" warning as I took off. I retracted flaps on take off to 5° and then 1° as I climbed. I have the Lonny panel installed.

What's going on with this Delta download. Is this a "preprogrammed" failure.

I just set up and I am on-line now with a test flight from CYHZ to VOR SJN and return and the same warning occurred. The 757-200 PDF Manual does not prescribed a specific degree setting for flaps BUT the "Gate Dparture" in the same manual shows flaps to be set at 5°. Surely we haven't made 5° the maximum on this download

Antbody?

Ozan:

I clicked on your suggested link but I am in FS9 and I can not find any "SHOW AIRCRAFT ANIMATIONS" setting to adjust although the problems outlined in the thread are the same as I am going through

It is in an ominous area. Go to:

One thing worth noting is that the Lonny Payne panel simulates turning off the hydraulics by doing a hydraulic failure, which depletes the fluid. I've never been able to duplicate the problem myself, but I have heard it elsewhere.

Cheers!

Mike, I assume you are using the fleet 757 for the checkride. The proper flap setting for t/o in this a/c is 5 degrees. If you are taking off with excess of five degrees, this may account for your flap warning.

VIC:

Yes I found that out the hard way despite the Lonny FMC (PArt of the 757-200 panel) showing 15°

I regularly use 15 without warning. I'd check to ensure that the flaps are actually deploying, and there isn't a hydraulic issue.

Cheers!

Mike-that's what Ozan Babacan said to go to in the link he provided. I was quoting directly. I said ominous, as in a wierd location that is hard to find. (??)

Did it help?

No No Mark no criticism intended !!
I just copied/pasted what OZAN had in his post and that wasn't very kind of me. Unless i am really stupid, (possible:) ), I can not find an area of "advanced animations" in FS9 under "settings"

Luke:
The Hydraulic issue is reaL !! In order to get the flaps to move at all on the NW 757-200 i have open in FS9, I first had to shut all hydraulic pumps off and then on again. I just watched on split screen. Did an F7 three times to get FLAPS 15 and while the handle indicator on the throttle quadrant showed 15 and Lonny's voice said Flaps 1, 5 15, the split screen clearly showed no movement on the wing. So I went to the overhead, shut down and reactivated the hydraulic pumps and the flaps opened to 15°.
This appears to be a "hit & miss" kinda thing but at night, you my not be able to tell if you have flaps or not

Thanks for the insight
