The cockpits are almost identical and in the real world most pilots are certified for both. I have a Captain sim 757 I would like to fly some times.

I think you meant that as a 767, can you fly the 757. And the answer is: probably. Check your pilot center to see if you ar rated, which you probably are.

Actually the 757 and 767 are different ratings at DVA. Once you have flown 5 legs in the 767 you should be able to take the 757 test and 757 Check Ride which will be available in your pilot center.

In order to obtain the 757 rating you must have been hired in as a FO or you must complete the testing and CR. The 757 program, while in the RW shares a type rating with the 767, is separate here at DVA because of the size of the programs. Once you earn captain in the 767, you have the option to take the 757 FO written exam and pass the CR to either to get the 757 rating or enter our program. Check your pilot center for all the aircraft you are rated in.

No, you have to use the fleet 757 for the CR so I suggest you practice flying it a couple of times. Generally, the 757 CR adds a lot to your flying skills, I highly suggest trying it!

Michael:

The answers to many of your questions can be found in the DVA literature and CR scripts. These are useful tools. You can save yourself a lot of cooler questions by doing a simple search.

Chris, I think Mr. Chambers is the expert, since he was the CP at the time, but I'll give you a shot at it, since you've been here a while too. When did DVA split the 767 and 757 programmes?

Yes it is Mike. That is why at the real Delta, there is no 757 program, just the 767(domestic 767 and 757), 76ER(international 767 and 757), and 765( the 767-400). The program here at DVA wasnto big and had to many people so they made it two progams.

Actually from what I understand, you are scheduled to fly both the 57 and 67 in the RW. Some days you can take the 67 and other days they have you on the 57. So, I don't really think there is any transfer per se. Rather just a joined type.

They should be merged, as the only difference are the weights and performance specs, other than that the cockpits are virtually the same. I admit I am slightly biased as I do like to fly my CS 757 as well.

The programs separate men from children, you want to be a man then get the 757 rating

Excusme but have to go now.. I found a nice spot at Antartica to hide from Robby and his 767 gang.

Regards

767 gang, where do I join? I like 767 as well, even though the MD-11 is my all time fave.
