I've noticed some time difference between DVA and FlightAware departures. DVA and Delta.com shedules agree, but FlightAware seems to be 15 to 20 minutes later. Would this be taking into account the difference from the plane leaving the gate to actual takeoff? Of course, I can't stick to the actual times all the time, but I try to whenever I can. I've been using DVA and Delta.com times as when I leave the gate. Just wondering.

It might be a difference in scheduled vs. actual time. But yes, I believe that the flight is considered "on time" if push back occurs at the appropriate time. Add in your 10-20 min taxi and wait game and presto.

Very good question. From FlightAware's FAQ's: http://flightaware.com/about/faq.rvt#airline1

Why do the departure and arrival times on a scheduled airline differ from the information on the airline's web site?

Airlines generally display the times that the aircraft departs and arrives from a gate. FlightAware presents the time that the aircraft departed and arrived, also known as the "wheels up" and "wheels down" times. At large airports or in various circumstances, there can be a significant difference in these times due to delays on the ground.
