Flew last night(KIND-KLAS)...NW297...13,200#'s fuel,6700 lbs & 14 psngrs...
Operated at FL280 to FL320..arrived at the gate w/1994 pounds...
I believe the CRJ stats say 1,345 nm plus given what was left in the tanks, would have been an hours reserve at altitude,
so i think KMEM-KLAX can be had...

Ohh,the length of my flight came to 1,588 mi

But, was that 1588 statue miles or 1588 nautical miles? The length given on our flight pages is actually in statute miles, I believe...divide it by 1.15 to get nautical miles. So 1588/1.15 = 1381 nm...not so far off after all! smile

Nautical miles should be referenced,as my understanding is point to point in a str8 line...

Hmm I never saw a 200 go coast to coast, I Know a lot of carriers downsized to the 738 to do it, economics, and the 738 still hold close to 8000# of auxillary feul with a full passenger load and cargo, but I never heard of them going as low as the 200, My question would be what happens when you get a 80 to 120 kt head wind enroute, would that extra 2000 #'s of fuel still be in the tanks or would we be looking for an alternate airport to refeul at?

Yeah, the schedule lists the distances in SM, and as Moose stated, 1588SM is really 1381NM.

the 1345NM is with legal reserves...
