Probably not. The panels simply won't be available.

Cheers!

Will it be possible to create your own merger and use it for a checkride in FSX?

Trevor - I'm pretty sure the answer is. The checkrides are all based on the Fleet aircraft - which allows for everyone to be on the same playing field when taking checkrides. Not everyone can afford the PSS/PMDG/Wilco etc payware planes

I dont think it should matter. I dont like it when I get a check ride assigned and it sais I have to use the fleet aircraft only.. I think we should be able to use whatever aircraft we have of that type. Is there a reason why we dont?

Josh, I think they are all based on the fleet aircraft more on a basis of simplicity for evaluation. If you have people taking the 737 checkride for instance, using thirty different kinds of 737's with different panels, ACARS may not record the right data, or the data recorded might be faulty. It'd be like making a RW Delta pilot checkride for the 737 in a Southwest Airlines 737. Same airframe, different performance AND equipment (a lot have no RNAV, no A/T etc). Because the chief pilots for that program have flown and created the checkride with the fleet version, they know exactly what kind of data they will get and exactly how the plane will perform, so they can evaluate peoples performance against a known set of data.

I'm not aware of any airline-wide requirement that check rides be performed in the Fleet Library model. The best course of action is to ask the Chief Pilot or his Assistant who assigned the check ride. There are some programs (the MD-11 comes to mind) with a specific check ride for payware owners. It's not harder or easier as far as I'm aware of, it just takes into consideration the recording capabilities of ACARS with the PMDG and makes a route with those in mind.

If you have questions about a Check Ride, please ask.

Cheers!

Luke I think this might just clear up the picture, because my next step was for the L1011-100 I've flown hundreds of hours on them between KDAL, KDFW and KCLT and I just love this bird. So when I transfer I just need to get with the Cheif and see if I can take the check ride with a third party aircraft since the panels will not be ready for fsx this year. Thanks for the information and keep the rubber down.

Gentlemen, To offer some clarification of which aircraft to use for checkrides. The 737 program checkride script specifies that a 737-800 be used, and you may use the DVA fleet OR third party aircraft. This applies to fs9 and fsx.
We're easy to get along with. smile

ya its odd because both the 757 and the 777 check ride scripts say that it is an automatic failure if you use any third party airplane like pss, pmdg, captain sim, etc. I dont want to sound mean cause I can live with it but wasnt the point to get as real as we can get it? I am used to using fmc's and all that and when I have to use the fleet library version it confuses the heck out of me? Anyone else have any input on this? smile
