I've had 3- 4 flights that errored when I pireped with acars.
Isnt there enough info on vataware to confirm a good flight so we can
get credit for the flight (as far as toward promotions) ?

While not sure exactly what the ACARS collects, it seems to me that all that Vataware collects at the end is what your filed speeds and altitude was, and what the time is between Takeoff and Landing, whereas ACRAS collects and saves data throughout the flight, as well as what AP is used, landing speed, weight info...ect. So it would seems that the data that is collected...and used for checkrides ect... is far greater than what Vataware is capable of, since it collects it directly from your flight instead of what is transmitted through FSInn/SB.

Also, when you say it error'd, did you check your logbook on the DVA site...the reason I ask is that I sometimes get an error message when I file my Pireps, but then they show up on my logbook, usually after ACARS server times out is when I have this happen...so really no bigey.

Just my .02

Scott - you last flight in ACARS shows 10 JAN - and it all looks good. ACARS is what we use here thanks to excellent programming from our own...you may be exiting ACARS or FS too quickly when you end your flight - and/or maybe not ensuing that you are PBs on when ending the flight.

my errors were same as:
http://www.deltava.org/thread.do?id=0x12328
and they did not pirep

I agree it's the best acars around- it just seems for a regular flight, its a shame
to not get credit, if this is going to happen alot. (and checkrides definately should be acars only)

ps
Ken, have you seen a vataware flight?:

yepp, like I said, after the flight has landed it only shows the filed Alt and SPD, time en-route, route filed, ect...and contains no info regarding landing stats, weights, actual speed on T/O Landing, altitudes flown...ect. compare these two http://www.vataware.com/flight.cfm?id=2720320 and http://www.deltava.org/pirep.do?id=0x56174 and you can see the difference in Data recorded...I think
