I'm curious, I thought we would have ALL NWA flights available to us now, but I was
looking at some data on Flightaware, and I saw this flight which is from KLAX-KOAK,
but I do not see it in our flight finder.

Can someone explain why this might be?

Usually the 9xxx flights are charters, and I think you can't find the charter flights in the Delta/Northwest Database are a passangers or cargo flights, but I'm not sure why the RW charters aren't in the schedule.

Since it's a 99 flight from LAX-OAK, it's very unlikely that it's a charter flight, or any other revenue flight. It's most likely a staging flight.

Ok, say (and these are completely out of my nose examples) that NW1040, a 744, just flew MSP-LAX, and they needed a 744 to fly OAK-HNL. Well, it might be best to schedule that 744 on both routes, since the airports are so close. So, naturally, in order to operate that route, it needs to fly the short hop from LAX-OAK, known as a staging flight. No passengers are carried on the flight (except possibly any crew that will be flying the next leg also).
That is (a horrible, butchered definition of) what a staging flight is. smile

We currently have all NWA commercial flights in our database. A search of the RW NWA schedule reveals no non-stop service between LAX - OAK. Southwest Airlines provides service.
