How would I merge a posky 757 with a pss panel? A posky 737 with PMDG Panel? A IFDG with a PMDG MD-11 Panel?
Thanks

I've only done one merge and I found an executable that made it all work. I understand the 757 merge you mentioned but why the 737 and MD-11?

The MD-11....The VC is great but kills my FPS, plus I love wing views. As for the 737...I need a Delta 738 W/Winglets.

You wanna do merges, then start out by studying how a plane in the simulator works.
What pieces are there, where do they live, what do config files look like, how do entries
in them determine the end product plane that you see.
No, I'm not going to give you answers, these are the things you need to figure out if
you want to actually do a merge yourself and not just rely on someone to give you something.
If you are really serious, then you need to buy FS Panel Studio, that will really give you
control.
But, just so you don't go off and waste your time and money, the more sophisticated a plane/panel
is, the more intertwined the whole product is and the less likely any piecemeal dinking is going
to work.
For instance, I've spent a LOT of time messing with the PSS panels, and finally realized that each
small gauge was interconnected with something in the model. I could completely dump their panel
and put in a replacement, but as soon as I tried to put in ANY of their gauges without the whole
it all stopped working. Now, PSS is WAY less complex than PMDG, so my advise is don't even
think about hacking their stuff
Finally, there's the whole issue of the virtual cockpit, its what makes the best planes great,
and trying to change it will require you not only understand config files, but that you understand
3D modeling, because the VC is part of the "space" that is defined in the plane model, and
gauges are textures that are put into that space, this means you need something like GMax
or 3D Studio Max to do serious work in this area. Go take a peek on the web about these
tools and you'll find they are REALLY complex, people make careers using them.
Time is money, you have a problem running the MD-11, go buy a faster computer, its likely
to be cheaper, and you'll be happier in the end! Don't misunderstand me, panel merging is
cool and interesting, but its likely to be more rewarding and less frustrating in simpler planes.

Um, If your looking for a merge, I made one, Gonna post it up soon, just working out some of the tweaks, but its not that hard to merge the planes together. Like they had said, U have to study how the plane is depicted and look at all the different entries in the Aircraft.cfg and use that information and basically convert it for the PMDG.

Jose, gotta agree with Captain Vogel on this one. Let Boeing build 'em, the fellas over in the maintance keep the electronics working and you fly 'em.
You blow a .cfg file and you might be days getting it back right.

there are several merges available (with instructions) on avsim for the posky 777 and pss 777. i am sure there is the same info and instructions to do the same with the 757. by the way he is asking how to merger posky/pss 757, posky/pmdg 737, and ifdg/pmdg md11. he is not looking to merge a 737 panel, with an airbus .cfg and the md11 virtual cockpit... sheesh.
it is not as easy as it would seem, as Jack tried to show us, but there are working merges out there for the pss/posky - pmdg you may have a more difficult time. search avsim and search google. don't expect a virtual cockpit in the merge.
