Since most of the 747 flights are long haul. And since i don't really have time to do many long hauls each week, can i fly the 747 on any route to be eligible for captain?

I am sure you can fly the 747 with any route, regardless of the equipment required (unless its a higher rating plane).

If DVA has the flight in the flight finder, then you can fly it. No questions asked. Except flying a Boeing 737-800 from Heathrow to Atlanta. Then there will be questions asked.

Or a 73G (737-700). Has a little more range than the 800 because it's not as heave and capacity is less. There's an airline that does all business class Somewhere in Europe-JFK. Can't remember where they are flying from in Europe though.

Although it is possible, it is kind of unrealistic. You don't expect to be sitting in a 737 cabin for 10 hours.

Not necessarily Matt. CO has sent their 739s across the Atlantic to SNN on a couple occasions although this was several years ago. Equip subs. There's a photo of one sitting at the gate in the A.Net database.
