I just heard that Continental Airlines has started a service from Los Angeles to La Habana, Cuba. It's Scheduled to be every Tuesday. I wonder when we'll be able to file flight reports on that.

We should make an event on one of these Tuesdays. We very rarely have an event on Tuesdays but just a thought. I probably wouldn't be able to make it cause of my schedule being that it leaves at 11 but I don't know.

What do you guys think about these news?

Politics to the side please, I know Cuba can be controversial...

It sounds like it is a scheduled charter flight, not scheduled COA: http://www.usatoday.com/travel/flights/item.aspx?type=blog&ak=68493220.blog

That's an interesting route it took yesterday.

And at any rate, COA won't be a member of Skyteam much longer. They've already anounced that they're switching to Star Alliance.

Not all flights that Continental has will be axed as part of the codeshare agreement, however a huge chunk of them will. Look at our codeshare flights with Qantas. Qantas is a founding member of "OneWorld" yet we have the capability to do a handful of their flights. At any rate however, if Cuba does get opened to travel for the general public, DL will probably do a run from ATL down there, and we will be able to fly there with a US Carrier. We can fly to Cuba now in our schedule, via Air France. smile
