I have done and passed check rides in 737,757,767,MD-11. I am a Captain in the B767-300 program. I wish to become a Captain in the MD-11 program. When I open a new equipment transer request and list MD-11 I am told I may have to do a check ride. Am I going about this the correct way? To date I have flown 7 flights in the MD-11 program. Do I automatically get promoted to Captain after ten and do I have to request transfer?

No need to request a transfer - once you have completed the 10 legs and passed the Captain's exam you will automatically appear in the promotion queue and the fourth stripe is usually awarded a few hours later. The language about "may require a check ride" is because that page is used for all transfers and doesn't know if you need one or not.
