I was wondering if you can make up a charter flight and get it pre approved my management and if so what is the procedure? I was thinking of something like KSEA to TNCM or KLAX to tenerife or someing different.

That would be a neat to have the option to do charter flights instead of always adhering to the posted schedules. Not that I don't like the schedule, but I've always wanted to do a random flight like KSAT-KOMA and get credit for it through acars!

What's the general opinion here on this issue? Does RW Delta do charter flights?

Well... Since all flight should be first approved by an ACP, CP or so, even the scedulled flights. I think should be no problem in perform some nice charter flights. Doing so, we can fly over areas where the real Delta don`t, and can make some advertising for the VA.

Anyway, i think i just too "young" to think what is better to the VA, but it`s my 2 cent`s! wink

Best Regards

If you want to do a chartered flight, create a helpdesk issue and we'll review your request. Creating a helpdesk issue doesn't mean you can fly a charter flight - it has to be reviewed before we make any kind of decision. There needs to be a valid reason for your request when you create the helpdesk issue.

DVA is a good VA. It has rules which include flying the schedules posted. Something different we have two options:- 1. Got to another VA o 2. put pressure on management to change the rules. I like it as it is but I would like to fly more in Australia and NZ so maybe increase the Code Share Routes. I was in Australia recently and there are many Qantas flights in Aust coded as delta. Let's make them available to us!

Robert, if a Quantas flight bears a DAL flight number it is a true codeshare flight. It should be in our schedule database on the days that the flight operates. NOTE: Our schedule is updated daily. Some flights operate on specific days of the week. They will not be present on the days that the flight doesn't operate.

Should you identify those that are missing, please create a Help Desk issue. We can investigate.

I was in Australia in May this year and Qantas and Delta did share some routes (Could book Qants from North America through Delta) however in searching Google I found the folowing: - "Qantas and Delta part company
Qantas have announced that effectively immediately, Delta Airlines is no longer available for purchase in conjunction with Qantas flights within the North American market.

To cover the gap, Qantas have recently extended codeshare services with American Airlines which covers travel from Los Angeles to Atlanta, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Detroit, Tampa, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Orlando and Memphis."

Pity as I would still like to fly with Delta Virtual in Australia. Guess not possible?

Charter flights would be nice. You could fly anywhere in the world for the heck of it. KSFO to KEGE. Yay, Vail. Problem, it's not winter. No boarding until December.

Yes they are cool, but 2 things, they must be pre approved through the help desk, which can take a day or two, and they must be citys in the ACARS system. I tried to put Tenerife north GCXO and ACARS would not see it.
I finishing up TNCM to PHNL then later on PHNL to KBOS.
You need a reason like a group tour or rock band tour, but other than that it is easy to get approved.

could we have items such as competitions on IVAO to fly these. I enjoy their world tour which they run. If now can we get once set up here. It offers a look at different airports that you do not normally fly to. I just on my own off line flew the origian transcontinetal Mail route that ran in the U.S. The reason off line is i can not get the Inn contol panel to install correctley using FSX and vista. These would be a good addition to the enjoyable sessions that are sent out.

Just food for thought
