okay, i have been trying to fly the KEWR VHHH route about 4 times now (each unsucessfull). Each time i get above about 80 degrees North vasfmc just starts making the aircraft fly in circles. one time i was flying in circles for over 6 hours....anyone know why this is? Does it happen with payware planes to? (pmdg specificly)

thank you very much.

Bo, what version of VASFMC are you using?

What is the AIRAC version you have for it?

What is your flight plan and at what waypoint does it start doing this?

If you didnt do anything to change the format of the coordinates, that is probably the problem.

MERIT HFD PUT PQI J582 UAC 5565N 60660N 6564N 7060N 7559N 8050N 8530N ABERI B934 BINTA B934 UOHH B480 BRT G490 LIRTA SERNA M520 POLHO G218 TMR B458 WXI A461 LIG R473 WYN W18 NLG W23 ZUH R473 SIERA SIER4A

Try using that route once, I am not sure if you use FSBUILD or what you use, but regardless, the coordinates are in a wierd form when they come out of flightaware like that. I personally use FSBUILD so I combine the coordinates like I did above then rebuild the flightplan and export to VASFMC or LEVEL D or whatever and it works fine.

I am guessing thta is where your problem is because where points started to occur was about 80 degrees north.

Bo, don't know how long you've been trying to fly this route, but the new AIRAC cycle was just released. Could that have been playing a part in the problem?

Are you in FS2004 or FSX? FS2004 doesn't model the world as spherical, it's more of a cylindrical projection. It gets VERY squirrely above about 80N. FSX models the world as a true sphere and so polar routes work a lot better.

Not long after I bought FS2004 I tried doing a few polar routes, and I don't think I could get much over about 85N before things went haywire.
