This has probably been answered a thousand times, but I couldn't find mention of it elsewhere. To wit;

I am a Captain in the 757-200 program. I'm trying to get captains ratings in all aircraft smaller than this for familiarization purposes, starting with the EMB-120

I took the required FO examination for the EMB-120 and passed that.

Logged 10 flights on ACARS, checked the Pilot Center and it says: "You are eligible to transfer to or request additional ratings in the following equipment types: EMB-120. "

I don't necessarily want to transfer programs but simply add the EMB-120 captain's rating by taking the EMB-120 Captain's Exam (and checkride?) but those options are not available in the testing center, only FO tests.

When I click on "Request Additional Ratings" in the Pilot Center, the page returns with: "You are not able to request a transfer into or additional ratings in any Delta Virtual Airlines Equipment programs."

Am I simply not understanding the ratings process or is there something else going on here? (and Yes, I DID read the Pilot Promotion Manual... wink )

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Go to Pilot center and under your profile will be listed all the aircraft you are currently authorized to fly. like under mine when I did my initial hire I automatically had the EMB 120. Keep you current Status for the 757 but take the FO exams for lower rated aircraft and request checkrides

The only way to become captain in the EMB-120 is to take the FO exam, JOIN the EMB-120 program, fly the 10 flights, take the captain's exam, and wait for promotion (no CR). Same with any other aircraft that's not the program you're in.

Okay, got it now, thanks guys! smile

The testing center threw me off a bit. It only understands that you can take the Captains Test only if you are in that program itself. Okay, got it now (slaps himself) wink
