I have heard of a couple of folks on DVA doing it, but I can't seem to find the flight routes/legs that they used for a flight around the world. I would like to do this with the 767-300. If anyone has the routes/legs, it would be awesome to get those. If not, I can always try to create the trip myself using the flight route search. Thanks!

Using the 767 it ought to be a snap - the real challenge would be using the Brasilia or another turboprop. But anyway...for the big birds something like this will get you there...

Leg 1 New York - Paris
Leg 2 Paris - Bangkok
Leg 3 Bangkok - Taipei
Leg 4 Taipei -Tokyo
Leg 5 Tokyo - Honolulu
Leg 6 Honolulu - Seattle
Leg 7 Seattle - Salt Lake
Leg 8 Salt Lake - Atlanta
Leg 9 Atlanta - New York

Just did one myself. This was the route I took:

ATL-CDG
CDG-Shanghai
Shanghai-LAX
LAX-ATL

I did that in the 767-300ER. The only leg thats a tad difficult is the Shanghai to LAX route. The 767 can make it, you just have to fly empty except for fuel.

I think they want to use official routes in DVA's database. I don't see a Shanghai-LAX run, but you could do Shanghai-Detroit in a 747 (yikes--that's a long one) and then DTW-ATL.

Still, a cool idea.

Jack, its a historic flight. Found it in the database. Give me a sec, I'll post a link to the PIREP I filled on it.

My bad, it wasn't Shanghai, it was Hong Kong. I've been playing Airline Simulation alot and was just putting a flight into shanghai, so I must have gotten the two mixed up. Oops.

Yep...that works. You can do CDG-Hong Kong and then Hong Kong to LAX. Nice to go around the world in 4 legs, although not sure that the 767 could legitimately do that long leg (with a realistic passenger and cargo load.)

Just found about Airliner Route Mapper and downloaded it immediately. It is a Windows program for exploring route maps of over 650 airlines, and the SkyTeam is included! Apparently the developer updated the route database just a few days ago, so there isn't a perfect correspondence with the DVA database (eg., COA64 from Newark to Lisbon is not in the DVA database), and it includes no historic routes (though it does include TWA?), but its interactive route-mapness is way cool. http://arm.64hosts.com/

Jack, no the 767 couldn't make it w/ a full load of pax and cargo. I did it empty except for fuel and the weight of CAPT and FO. I landed in LAX w/ I think about 15k or so in the tanks. Maybe a bit more.

Miguel, I commend you for your perseverance on that trip! That seems like it would have taken over a few months to do even flying 1 or more legs per day. During the summer, I'd like to try something like that too; do you have any tips you can provide?

I finished up a 23 leg "around the world" a few months ago, my legs were this:

PDX-LAS-IAH-MEX-EZE-ATL-DCA-BOS-SNN-DUB-CDG-JNB-AMS-CAI-DXB-HKG-SYD-SIN-NRT-HNL-ANC-JNU-SEA-PDX

I celebrated my 800th flight with the last one (SEA-PDX)

In a 767 as others have said it should be fairly easy, remember you can fly any flight in the database with any aircraft you are rated in, so long as it has the range to do so, you don't have to fly the aircraft that is listed for the route, if you don't want to. Depending on your level of realism that you like to enjoy, this could cause an issue, but if you want to do all flights in your around the world journey in the 767, you can. Have fun with the trip, I'm planning another trip here soon myself, may even start it with my next flight...we'll see smile
