i was thinking that a great new feature for DVA would be competitions as in the most total flight time in a month and the pilot with the most wins the monthly prize. I wont mind handling this project as in paying for the prizes(payware aircraft and scenery) but i wanted to work my way up to chief pilot but its just an idea any disagreements is welcomed

Agreed Andrew. I don't believe that that is what DVA is all about. Take a look in the statistics section. Personally, I think that is a great way of pilot recognition and it's simple. Great pilots get recognized for the acomplishments they perform.

to be honest i have really enjoyed dva and also the pilot reconigtion program but it was a idea that just passed i didnt really think about it but thanks for not making me feel like a fool after a comment like that

one more question , i love flying online especially dva event but i only did one event because i was getting low fps on the ground,
AMD AthlonTM 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 4200+

GeForce 6150 LE

i do not want to overclock my system i am satisfied with the speed but would upgrading my video card or ram first will boost online performance. My budget now is only good for a 4gb system or a video card around $50

I'd say video card first, that's your worst bottleneck right now.

Assuming that you have a PCI EXPRESS port, I'd get this first for $40 bucks:

If ur using LDS-767 in FSX, then it usually stutters on the ground. happens to me all the time

Well, instead of payware aircraft and scenery - money will have to come from somewhere - why not awards that are purely aesthetic. like the ribbons on a uniform idea. certificates of excellence. online event participation accomodations. -1 ft per minute landing acknowledgement, like a picture of a plaque with the pilots name and id, etc.

Have it show on their profile pages, and when you entire the Pilot Center.

Food for thought.

Gerhardt - how about this idea - you can have it. An Event where it is a landing contest. However, it is low visibility, 30 knot crosswind and you get graded on height above threshold, speed over threshold, landing distance, and finally vertical speed. It has to be hand flown with an ILS - no autopilot. Someone (you) would do the analysis of the flight reports and pick a winner. I am not sure how to grade the landing based on whether the pilot is able to get the nose pointing up the runway upon touchdown. Essentially we would take over an airport with multiple parallel runways, on VATSIM. Would need VATSIM to ok. The reward is bragging rights.

That would be awesome to do. The only issue I think is that someone would have to come up with a "rubric" of sorts. Such as how close to the threshold is ideal for this competition, how high, fast, etc. Once that is sorted out I believe this would be pretty cool!
