Came across this last night. Felt it worthy to share. Leave it to the guys over at AVSIM.
Keep in mind, tweak at your own risk..I have found loads of improvement in performance following these steps.

I'll have to take a look at that Andrew. Surprised at the increased performance off of what little things I have done just from skimming over his post. Not just for flight sim, but over all.

Lessons learned however, I am not going to hold my breath. I have fears that I'll come downstairs one morning and find a charred pile of ashes where my computer was the night before.

Until that day though.. wink
