I'm sick of FS9 freezing after a +3 h flight in 1x just when the STAR procedure begins.
And I don't know how people with computers 2-3 yrs old gets easily 60 FPS (I satisfy myself with 25) when I struggel to get 22-25 with a good comp

These are my specs :

-Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6700 @ 2.66 Ghz
-Installed Physical Memory (RAM): 6.00GB
-Total Physical Memory: 2.00GB
-Available Physical Memory: 3.99GB
-Display Device: NVIDIA Geforce 9500 GS @ 512 MB
-OS: Windows Vista Home Premium

I've already tweaked FS9 to the max, downloaded nHancer and set it up, modified fs9.cfg (including terrain section),
used resized autogen textures, set ActiveSky lowest sized clouds texture, defrag, etc.

It's driving me crazy these 18-22 FPS with all the tweaking. I've heard FSX supports multicore so I guess that would be
my last card to play. I've also heard people having better FPS with a tweaked FSX rather than a tweaked FS9

What would you do?

Help Pleaseee!! Thank you!

Your problem must be the video card. It's not high-end, for starters. And Windows Vista won't help you a bit, either.

lol. I don't really have an answer for your. My computer is almost 2 years old and I use FSX. I get about 9 FPS on the ground and 13 to 15 in the air. I consider anything above 7 good (for me). I would kill to have 20 FPS.

Well I'm not saying that if you get FSX you'll have 8 FPS too, I guess its more for me to know that I can do so much better!

It's not only about a whim.

@18 FPS most of the landings will turn into hard lardings... >>250 ft/min

mm yeah, I guess it's mostly a video card issue. Which one would you recommend?

@Matthew Comment's : How do you do to perform soft landings @9 FPS?

I don't know. Maybe landing isn't actually as hard as I think it is and would be easier if I had better computer... Two years of practice maybe? smile Or maybe I'm just used to it. Not sure.
