Hello guys, I just discovered something that really brightened my day.

I run an i5 processor overclocked to about 3.2 GHz, and it's really been working out great for me. With the majority of aircraft I could run them on the ground with FlyTampa sceneries and get frames between 40 and 50.

Now recently I've been running the PMDG 747 and I noticed that my frames changed (as expected). Now they were rapidly changing between 30 and 50, sometimes spiking up but never dropping below 28 or so. This came as a relief, but for some reason I had a new problem, stuttering.

I solved the problem by lowering some settings, but today I was playing arround with my settings and discovered something. I tried just for fun setting everything at maximum, except for traffic (I really don't give two cents about boats and cars). Amazingly, I could still run the PMDG 747 in Boston with decent frames! The only problem was that now things were still just as stuttery sometimes.

Continuing my experimentation, I locked the frames to something decent, but below what I was always getting (locked at 25), instead of having them as unlimited. Suddenly I was STILL getting the locked 25 frames per second (they have not yet dipped below) and NO stutters!

I was surprized at this because I was told "unlimited" is better for performance, but all in all I'm very glad and just wanted to share this tip with everybody.

Setting your frames for a number like 25-30 is a know performance booster. You save resources this way. Mine has always been locked at 25.

I have no performances issues whatsoever, and mine are locked at 35....thinking of bringing them down to 30 wink
