I remember being passed by a MD-80 (I have settings so simulator will show type as well as flight number and altitude) - which is what I thought DAL3050 was. I thought it was really strange that I would be passed by a MD-80. Center had asked me to slow to Mach .76, so I figured the MD-80 for Mach .82 or something. Anyway, when chatting to DAL3050, he mentioned he was a 757. I thought I had lost my mind . At the time I didn't know what to make of it. However this morning I thought that since I do not have that type in my simulator, I figure it must have been represented it as an MD-80. I have to confess (except for the 747) I have a hard time telling one Boeing from another when they are on the ground, but I knew enough to know that an MD-80 is not supposed to blow the doors off of a 737. But a 757 ---- that's another story.

MUHAHAHAHAHAHA I passed a few of you guys out there that night, for some reason, I loaded myself up real light and was able to maintain .87 the whole way, without a hitch, granted I blew through some fuel but hey, I had a blast. Scott I remember telling you a few times I was an 757 and thats how I blew your doors off... that and well lets just say I was in a "rush" It was a great night, up until my fps on vatsim got so bad close to Souix Falls, that I had to land offline I have since fixed that with a new gfx card (XFX 5870XXX) and a new OS ( windows 7 gives me 3x the FPS that vista did). Look forward to the next flying. That was a blast

no offense to anybody, an on line event is not a race but unfortunately I see this happening very often lately :evil grin:
and Michael I'm not a computer geek but never heard that an OS can improve three times your FPS
blue skies to all

Vincenzo,
Windows 7 is half the footprint/resource usage of Windows XP but with the gloss of Vista. Vista is a resource hog, thus resulting in better performance on 7 over Vista
You knew that though, right?

one thing is better performance another thing is three times the performances' but I don't want to start any isssue I just thought that what Michael stated was way too much you need a little more than a good OS for that kind of result!

nah for some reason I guess I had better winds.... I wasnt racing just testing my bird:) I hadnt read much about vista vs 7 in Flight Sim, but was rather excited when I made the switch and finally didnt see things studdering..... The true test is going to be when I put the new gfx card in possibly over the weekend. Im hoping that will help as well.
