Just curious if anyone out there has used the new 21.5'' iMac with the ATI 4670 card with either FS9 or FSX via bootcamp. I know several of you have macbooks with similar setups, but I might find myself with this model iMac soon, and thought I'd see if anyone had much luck with it.

A previous poster mentioned having some success with the base model, so I figure the upgraded model would fair a bit better overall, but the idea of running FSX on a 256mb card has me skeptical.

Yes, I know, a PC would get me much better flightsim-able hardware, but I'm just curious about the bootcamp + Flight sim setup.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

My dad has one (granted he is 71 years old), and I installed FSX with REX, ASX, and other programs under bootcamp and Windows 7 and it runs fine.

I also own a MBP and run FSX and FS9 on the BC partition and runs fine as well - on Win XP Pro.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. I think the iMac is the best option for me. I know it's not the most flight sim equipped rig, but if it'll still do a decent job, then it's probably the best option for me.

Update:
Bought my 21.5'' imac- with the ATI 4670 card. Installed XP and FSX via Bootcamp last night. Haven't had much time to test it out- but first impressions are GREAT! Installation was a breeze once I had the correct copy of windows. (Anyone considering this must have copy of Windows XP SP2 or later)

Frame rates were locked at default, and I had room to crank the scenery a bit. I still need to install the service packs for FS, and do some tweaking, but overall- I'm amazed at the possibility to have a MAC AND FSX all in one. I definitely recommend it to anyone who's considering a similar situation.
