For whatever reason, when i file either via vatsim or in FS9 via the squakbox bar, ATC never gets my flight plan and i end up having to send it via private chat.. this has been happening now for tha past two weeks.... any ideas ?

Make sure you have all of the necessary boxes filled out, then click send flight plan. You may also try re-logging in on a different server. That solves most of my problems. That's about all I can suggest.
