Hi all, New 737-800 pilot here having problem getting going. I downloaded ACARS 2.2 and do not see a reference to it in my drop down menu in FS9. I have also read page 11 of the ACARS manual numerous times and am still very confused. I would just like to have a gauge in my 737-800 to be able start ACARS while I am in FS9 flying offline. Am I missing something?

Sorry, also I have looked in fs9 aircraft folder at b737-800 panel.cfg file and find alias=FSFSConv\panel.JET.737NG so I'm wondering how you enter the necessary lines in the file with the X and Y coords to create the gauges. Also do you have to do this separately for every a/c that you download? Big Job it seems! I must be barking up the wrong tree. LOL!

The gauge only shows your phase of flight. Taxi takeoff etc. there should be an icon on your desktop if not go to program flies Delta Virtual or DVA. and you can open up acars from there it open up inside fs.

As Mark says, the gauge doesn't start ACARS (although it can communicate with the running ACARS program to start/stop a flight). You'll need to start ACARS from the Windows Start menu.

Cheers!

Thanks Gentlemen I am still working on it. I got a new monitor so I can see the gauges better and maybe need to upgrade my computer. Still reading manuals and planning to fly soon. I am very impressed with this VA. Thanks again.

Thanks Luke and Mark,
I am now flying and really loving all of this. Learning new stuff every day by reading the manuals and asking questions. Thanks for all the assistance you provide.
