Does anyone know why when I press a number to respond to FS ATC i get a noticeable stutter?

My sound card is a Sound Blaster Audigy SE 24-Bit, under Vista I have it set to DVD Quality.
All other sounds such as engine noise, evironment etc cause no stutters at all.

It's only when ATC begins to transmit or I transmit.
Any fix for this? Fortunately my regular flight stutters are gone now.

A lot of times it can be a bandwidth issue. check out your internet speed whenever it happens again.

He is referring to FS ATC. Bandwith has no play in regular FS ATC.

Daniel, sorry.. i have no idea.. never happened to me.. only happens when on VATSIM sometimes.

I fixed it, it's a problem under Windows Vista.

Make sure the following settings are used,

Access from your taskbar: (Right click your speaker icon and go into its settings)

1. Speakers only - disable Digital Audio Interface
2. Stereo Sound - Remove the 7.1 audio channel
3. DVD Quality - Sound quality
4. Disable Give exclusive mode applications priority - this is the ATC sound killer

Restart FS and now ATC sound stutters will be gone.

I personally had this using 1 pc for all the flightsim programs.
Using fsnav for example in online mode causes for me this trouble.
now having the progs separated over 2 computers it is not a issue any more.
