Hey guys. Sorry for the dramatically off topic thread, but I just know somebody here will know the answer to this.

I'm making an audio RCA male to 3.5mm female adapter, and I need help figuring out which of the wires on the 3.5mm cord are +, -, and ground. Theres 3 wires coming out of it, and it looks like this:

How would I figure out which one is which?

[EDIT]

According to one website, the red wire is right, the white wire is left, and the standard wire is ground. The problem is...the standard wire isn't copper colored, it's green... lol.

The black wire should be the hot conductor, the white neutral, and the green ground.

Though the above is standard wiring, I always check just in case some assembler or factory, for some insane reason uses different coding. In general, green is always ground. Easy to remember because they both begin with G. smile

This is DC voltage we're talking about I assume?....black is negative, white positive, and the bare copper wire is ground.
