Meh, 1000 ft. vertical separation, and visual, no big deal, and I doubt his gear are actually down. That was a trade off that was made when the VIP model sets were made years ago. Since the most likely time to get a good look at another aircraft is near the ground, they were modeled as they would be seen in those configurations.
