Hey all, I hope this is the right area to post this. I signed up for the event tonight from KORD to KIAH, so hopefully someone can get back to me in time. I just loaded up my FSX at KORD and the sim pauses for a few seconds, then runs for a few seconds, pauses, runs, etc... If I start at KMDW it works fine. If I fly toward KORD, as soon as I get within 10 miles, it starts the pauses again and if I turn around (which takes a while), once I'm back passed the 10 miles, it stops pausing. I don't have any scenery installed for KORD. I tried a bunch of other areas, and it seems like they are all working except KMCO, (no scenery installed) which does the same thing. Anyone have any ideas?
- note: if I turn my scenery to low (where only airport buildings are gone, but all other scenery is there) it works fine. I'd really hate to fly without buildings.

Graphics driver. Try updating them - only other option is to adjust/fine tune your settings until it works.

OR

Go to walhalla and download the latest KORD scenery and then try.

Tried the download, and it still does it. I just took off from JFK on my way to ATL, and didn't have any issues. It only seems to happen around ORD and MCO...

Jack,

Are you using any addon scenery from FSDreamteam/Cloud9 since they make addon scenery for both ORD and MCO. It is a remote possibility but the addon manager can be causing a problem if you are using any of there products and do not have the most updated version.

I have the JFK from them, for fsx, but neither the ORD or MCO... which is strange. it's weird that if I turn my scenery to low it works, but if I put it up 1 notch in the area (airport, not surrounding - trees and other buildings) it pauses.

It may not fix your problem but make sure that you have the latest addon manager from them. If you download JFK again and reinstall you will get the latest version. Also, making sure that your hard drive is not fragmented will also help performance. Another thing to try is to also download the FSDreamteam ORD scenery and try it out. I believe it gives you demo trial period. See if the problem goes away.
