How would I go about requesting a leave of absence for about 13 months. I will be leaving in early August for a deployment to Afghanistan and I will be gone for aprox 12 months.

I think that the LOA is as long as until you log back in, but I am not sure, just to be safe, I would e-mail an admin, just to let them know of your extended absense.
