I bought a HP core i7 laptop during christmas... I know not the best time to buy one. I can honestly say I am completely happy with the laptop. My only issue with laptops from say a year ago to 2 years ago the technology just wasnt being put into laptops to be true gamers with the exception of a few companies. IMHO I would save a few bucks and get a newer laptop with some of the newer graphics cars and processors in it.

You ain't running FS9 with a laptop in the 300 USD range. You'd need something around 700 USD.

Well I also have a brother who works around electronics and could probably take out my old hard-drive and Graphics card and replace it with a new one plus my dad knows some people that can give him a good price on a laptop. look at this website to http://www.gotapex.com
