I was flying today and i stepped into the 747 which i do not do often but i like to every now and then when i lost the sound effects. I tried all the other aircraft i have and it is working fine in every thing else. Hope someone has a clue about what is wrong and if i should just reinstall FSX and do a repair. Thanks for the help. Where it's a single aircraft that's doing in it could go either way. If it's one of the default aircraft and you don't have backup files for whatever is causing this, maybe a missing sound.dll or something, you may have to reinstall fsx to get it back. However if it's an addon A/C that is doing it then you have only to reinstall that aircraft unless you can figure out what's missing or not being recognized. Can be a can of worms but I'd avoid reinstalling fsx unless you don't have any addons installed then by all means... Go for it.

You know I did no think about the q key until about a half hour after it started but at least i thought about it cause it is usually the simple things that are wrong, learned that in the Navy, but i ended up doing a repair with FSX install disk and i have the sound back now. Thanks for all the input though, you can always count on your fellow DVA pilots to try and help out.
