Depends on many factors. Right now its available as a rating and you can fly under that.

A) is their a big interest from current pilots

B) anyone willing to staff the program which includes writing AOM's, grading checkrides, etc?

C) Are there enough routes flown by the real world counterpart to warrant this program?

D) Do they exist within the regionals in large enough numbers?

E) Is the senior staff willing to go with the flow of setting up the program?

I think having a CRJ program covering the CRJ 100, 200, 700 and 900 as well as a ERJ program to cover the ERJ135/140/145/170/175/190/195 might be a good idea. I'm more partial to the ERJ135/145 and would love to help in anyway I could. Granted there are 350+ CRJ1/200's, 50+ CRJ700's and 100+ CRJ900's compared to 45 or so ERJ145's and 50 or so EMB170/175's, so the numbers are smaller on the Embraer side of things.

I've always fathomed the jungle jets more than CRJs, but that's just a personal preference.

A. I guess we would have to ask around, but it seems like it.
B. Any Takers :-P
C. I have seen a lot of routes starting to pop up under the ERJ170's, for example Delta just announced BDL-DCA in a ERJ170 two days ago. Currently over 200 flights with the ERJ170 (not including the other Embraers)
D. Opinions will tell this.
E. Senior Staff in the house?
F. Yes smile

And by the end of the year, there will only be 24 145s in the Delta Connection program with the departure of Freedom.

One challenge is that outside of the manufacturer, I'm not sure what the ERJ-135/145 and the ERJ-170/190 have in common.

Cheers!

Not a whole lot, other than basic functions you'd expect to see staying the same under a single manufacturer. They're definitely different aircraft and the 135/145 are fine in the CRJ program.

About as much as the 737-200 and 737-900 have in common or maybe even the original CRJ100 versus the CRJ1000. Same systems logic, but beyond that not much.

They actually do. I joined Deltava in the 737 program. The ERJ-170 and ERJ-190 are covered in that program. I'm sure if you look throught the promotions guide you can find out what ratings you will need for other ERJ aircraft.

They actually do what? We're talking about a completely separate program, away from the 737.
