OK, I'm sure there's something I'm missing here. I've downloaded vasFMC and I'd love to be able to use the SID/STAR function. According to the dirctions you have to download the ATR-72 SID/STAR and load them into vasFMC. Now, my problem, all I seeis SID/STARs for Europe. Where's the ones for the States.
Also, I'm more than a little intimidated by vasFMC. Any help/advice/directionfor a total newcomer to the FMC world would be greatly appreciated

No, no got to Navigraph ( here is the link directly to the FMC updates http://www.navigraph.com/www/fmsdata.asp ) download the VASFMC and run the install.
vasFMC is simple; departure airport, departure rumway, select the SID, add your enroute waypoints, arrivial airport, select the STAR. remove your diplicate wayponts, remove you discontinuities.
You are ready to go.
Take off select nav on the autopilot, press AP couple on the VASfmc and you are rocking. It is Laterial Nav only no VNAV.
