I hope I am posting this in the right place.

Anyways here goes. I recently replaced my motherboard due to some faults in the old one. Before i replaced it, everything was working perfectly, ACARS, FSUIPC, etc. Now after installing the new mobo I had to reinstall FSX, so i reinstalled everything to go with it. (FSUIPC and ACARS along with the fleet aircraft) now when i load up a flight there is no Add-on menu. So i cant start my flight in ACARS because by the looks of things FSUIPC is not installing properly. I have tried reinstalling everything, running with admin rights. deleting my modules folder and reinstalling FSUIPC, even recreating my dll.xml file. Nothing has helped frown

Any ideas guys?

That's weird. I might be mistaken, but after reinstalling a motherboard, don't you need to reinstall everything? Windows and the rest of the stuff...

I'd wipe the drive and start over .... Also, when you install FS install it in its own directory. Don't install it in C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Games\FSX .... install it c:\FSX

I find that having FS (FS9 or FSX) in the Program Files directory gives too many problems because of the directory protected status.

Robert,

Did you replace the motherboard with the exact same make and model? Did you restore everything from a backup?

If you swapped out the motherboard and tried to boot off the old drive then Windows is truly freaked out. It went to sleep thinking it was a middle-aged man with a bald spot and a bum knee and woke up the next morning as a 6 year-old girl wearing a flowered dress! eek

It's a horrible analogy but I use it to illustrate that all of the hardware, interrupts, capabilities, processor, RAM, etc are totally different from what it "remembered" when it went to sleep for the final time.

If it's all different, then get a new hard drive, do a fresh install of Windows and get everything updated. THEN plug in your 'old' hard drive (as a secondary drive) and copy over what you need. You'll have to re-install a bunch of software but that's about the state of things right now.
