Okay, it pretty much says it in the title, but I'll tell you a little more. My computer just stopped working, I was going to restart it because my internet connection is bad, but I usually have signal, I truned it back on. I left my room because I had to go to the bathroom. When I came back, I saw the "Blue screen of DEATH". I don't know why, so I tried to start it again, then it went to where it says that my computer did not shut down correctly, and then I pressed start it normally, then it just restarted. I then tried to do a system restore, but it did the same thing, and thats all it is doing. I was also about to do a flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles. I was going to do that flight before, but since ACARS messes with my fuel, I tried to restart FSX, and everything started to freeze up, and im internet connection got bad, that is when I decided to restart my computer. Any help at all would be great, I already miss flying, even though this happened 7 hours ago.

It only showed it once, and I can't remeber, but it was some dll file I think. I use Vista Home Premium FYI.

No, not that I know of. It just stops and restarts once I press enter on where it asks how I want to start Windows.

If you strike the F8 key right after POST, will it allow you to boot in "safe mode"?

Best Buy overcharges you for services like this. Expect to pay at LEAST $150 for it. That's just the diagnostic fee fyi.

Do you have the original Operating System Disk? I think the Vista disk is purple or something.

If you have it, take the disk, put it in the system, and then make the system boot from CD. Run the repair tool off of the CD/DVD.

If you have the original windows disk, try repairing, or reinstalling windows. I've had that happen to me, but luckiley, Gateway included a windows install disk with the computer, so I just popped that in and it fixed it. Also, you might want to contact microsoft as they might have some solution for you also.

Well, I have Gateway also. I bought it last year. I'll have to try that, and see if it can be fixed. If I can't fix it, I'll have to go to Best Buy or something to get them to fix it.

Geek Squad will essentially do the same thing -- put in a disk that will verify and repair a few items.

If the Windows repair doesn't work, I want you to boot from CD with Command prompt, and run a "chkdsk" see if that repairs anything.
