Hello DVA!

So here it is,
I was browsing online like always to find a cure for PC stutters...

I came across a page that stated that a certain electrical outlet has to have enough amps in it in order to have the PC running normally.
It never crossed my mind that having too many things connected on one outlet could cause my PC stutters problem...
I used to have my PC outside in the living room until 2 days ago I decided to move my whole desk into my room.
Outside in my living room i was shocked by all the cable wiring that was connected to one outlet. I was surprised it didnt cause a power failure.

It had my families VCR's, DVD Players, DVR Recorder, Stereo, 30'' HDTV, etc. Alot of stuff!

Plus the 4 extension chords to one power outlet! scared

So I connected the PC in my room and regular in flight stutters disappeared... now I have my PC on only one outlet.
The only thing I see now is sudden drops in FPS for flying through heavy clouds... sure it stutters a bit but once your out of the cloud its all smooth flying again.
Keep in mind I fly at 60 FPS constant, I just can't go back to 25/30! haha

The main thing is that the PSU needs a good power source, so I finally gave it what it was looking for.
Well for those that have stutters check out your outlet. How many things do you have connected to it?
Analyze, are they power hungry electronics? I used to be told to replace my PSU because it was seen as the problem.

Your stuttering in the clouds has nothing to do with power - but your video process.

Good hint though.

Bear in mind that plugging your PC directly to an outlet can be bad. You want your PC plugged into a surge protector/battery backup to prevent damage from surges and brownouts. Directly into the power outlet offers no protection.

Daniel,

I've never heard of an overloaded outlet causing problems but I agree with Skylar in that you should (at the very least) have a surge protector between your PC and the outlet (a battery backup would be better).

On another note, are you hard-wired to your router or are you running wireless? I ask because the distance between the router and your computer can definitely play a role with regard to the 'stutters' in FS. Also, if something operates close to the wireless frequency (phone, microwave oven) then that can also cause problems (my printer across the house used to drop off when my old phone rang eek ).

Happy to hear that your setup is now working correctly though!

my computer is connected via Ethernet cable to my wireless router. I have my Macbook Pro next to it and my home phone.

We use Vonage to make calls.

@ Sergio: Thanks.
