HI,
Does anyone here use the 3D glasses from Edimensional ? I am looking for a graphics card to use them with.
I tried to use the GeForce 7300 GT from BFG Tech, but would not work. I know the card has to be A
nVidia chipset card. I am using A CRT monitor & my old card worked with them. I want to upgrade to
A faster card to get better frame rates, does anyone know who make a card that will work with the
glasses? Could not get any help from Edimensional's help team.

Thanks,
Vince.

For 3D Vision you need a monitor with a refresh rate of 120Mhz, a reciever for the 3d glasses (shoulda come with the kit) and I believe one of the new GTX400 series cards.

AGP card. looks like not many to pick from. may have to upgrade to new computer.

not the case Skylar. As a TV repair tech I can tell you that 3d worked on all CRTs, which dont have 120 Mhz refresh rate. Also Plasma ( which have a 600Mhz+ refresh rate) also can display 3d, as well as 240Mhz LED's and LCD's. As for 3d on a CRT, you guys remember the red and blue glasses? Nuff said there. Im not very familiar with Edimensionals 3d glasses, but it would stand to reason that if your CRT could do it, any monitor will be able to do it, as for the card you need, as of right now, Nvidia is the only maker that supports 3d technology. Take a look here for the cards/monitor combos that can.... http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-requirements.html

Looks like its not just the 400 series cards that can do it. But keep in mind that this is for the "Nvidia 3D Vision". So youll need their glasses, one of their tested monitors, graphics card, etc....

Looks like your glasses would work with any graphics card and monitor..

try it out, what do you have to lose. Also it says you need a DVI to VGA adapter, have you tried "downgrading the output" to a VGA and seeing if that makes it work? Ill do a little more research on Monday when Im back at work and see what else I can find out with your older 3d glasses.

If this helps, my old card worked with the 3D glasses. (GF FX5500) This is a AGP x8 card with 256mb ram and it worked good
but low frame rates. The card I have now is A BFG GeForce 7300 GT. The tech I talked with on the phone said that
this card will not work with the Edimensional software though the chip set is NVIDIA & so far he is right. The only way
to get the glasses to work is to reinstall the old card & they work great (again low frame rates). Looking for a faster
card with more memory & the 3D glasses to work, it makes flying much better. I am hooked to the VGA port on the
card & I am using A CRT monitor.
Thanks for any help

NVIDIA technology specifically requires 120Hz. Look at their website.

I ran the "Can you run it tool" with my gtx460 1gb in SLI and my 3 60Hz refresh rate monitors and it failed due to the monitor refresh rate.

The OLD 3d technology ran on OLDER hardware fine. The newer technology utilizes different methods to display 3d images, thus requiring the higher refresh rate (Effectively splitting the image in two, so you see two 60Hz pictures on 1 monitor)

Unless of course they are lying and you can use a lower monitor. Which wouldn't surprise me.
