Do you gain any extra performance overcloking to 4.0 GHz and also installing FSX on Win7 64bit is this the propper way C/program filesx86.D/Fsx to install it.

Yes you do. But beware of overclocking first. Read how to do it properly and what equipment you should have before you do it so that you don't fry your CPU.

For installation, I would recommend you do install FSX anywhere but Windows drive. I have my FS9 on D-drive while Windows on C.

Yes, I'm overclocked to 4.2GHz, and it does wonders for me. But, as was said, do your homework. I don't think you're going to be able to get your 2.66 up to 4.00, not without a huge amount of cooling. May not be possible, that's too big of a step. Maybe 3.0GHz+.

As for the install, I second that above. Install on a second, separate hard drive. Check out Larry's post on the subject. I did what he recommended, and it made a huge difference.

heres a good place to ask all your overclocking questions. I have my i5 2.6 stock up to 3.87 with STOCK cooling, not recomended but its is possible, put a better cooler on it and you can get even higher....

Also... make sure your motherboard even supports overclocking before you go to much further. Some motherboards do not allow changing of the settings needed to overclock.
