Whenever I mute flightsim so I can hear ATC better on vatsim, theres still a wind sound. I cant hear the ATC. The wilco crj is the only aircraft that does it. Any suggestions how to fix it.

In the CRJ folder there is a folder for Sound. There should be a file called crjwind.wav. I believe this is the source of the sound you are hearing. You could try to delete or move this file to eliminate the sound.

Are you sure it isn't the packs making the noise? Found this in the Wilco forums.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I remember the packs being really loud and a few times I just left them off for the entire flight. Realistic? Not likely but it was nice to hear some other things for once. smile

Yeah the hard part now is trying to fix it, I cant seem to locate the file. And I noticed if I mute the sim in the VC panel then all is good, but the second I go into 2d it starts and wont stop.

Doesn't FSX have volume controls for different parts of the aircraft? In FS9, engine, environment, ATC, cockpit have individual settings for loudness.

Ok guys old post I know but can someone answer me this. I removed the AC sound folder and placed it on my desktop, now whenever I load the 2D panel the CRJ freezes FSX. Why would a sound file do this?
